About Ashley Meadows Farm
Located in eastern Chester County on Philadelphia’s Main Line, Ashley Meadows Farm is a tree-shaded, private country estate that has been offering quality, affordable “A” rated horse shows since 1980, with classes for every level of rider and horse. While much of this area has been developed to accommodate the booming suburban population, Ashley Meadows has retained its rural nature. Like the nearby, internationally famous Devon Showgrounds, it continues as a living example of Chester County’s equestrian heritage.

Our park-like setting has all of the amenities: air conditioned lounge, beautifully decorated jumps and the finest footing to be found, consistently maintained by an automated sprinkler system. For the safety of the horse, the property is fully fenced. At the summer shows, you can view the ring while lunching under the trees at any of the tables set up across from the ingate. In the wintertime, the heated exhibitors’ lounge provides a snug refuge between show events.

Once a year, management offers two unique shows at the legendary Devon Horse Show grounds, about three miles from Ashley Meadows Farm, in the same township. Our Devon event is the only horse show ever to receive the Best of Philly™ award from Philadelphia magazine. Because of the unusual USEF date rotation, however, this year the two Devon shows will instead be held at Ashley Meadows, along with our usual summer circuit. We expect to return to Devon in 2009. Please see our “Horse Shows” page for the entire year’s schedule.

2008 Summer Circuit
Our traditional “B” rated Day After Devon” show this year falls on Sunday, June 8, because of that same date rotation. The “B” rated Classic, Sunday, June 29, starts off our consecutive Summer Show Series, with offerings for Ponies, Juniors, Children’s and Adult Amateur Hunter, and multiple schooling divisions from Walk/Trot on upward. Marshall & Sterling Children’s and Adult Hunter Classics are offered, as well as the NAL Hunter classes. All of our shows provide classes for every level of rider, including Academy classes.

The Classic is followed by the “A” rated Horse and Pony Show from June 30-July 2. All “A” divisions are offered with the full range of Marshall & Sterling events, as well as the NAL Classics. We are also offering Hunter Breeding, Pony Hunter Breeding, as well Junior Hunters, Pony Jumpers, Children’s Adult Jumpers, Puddle Jumpers and Schooling Jumpers. This show, as well as the three back-to back Ashley Meadows Farm shows that follow, also offer a $1000.00 Pony Hunter Classic and a $1000.00 Junior/Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic for those great bonus points at each show. By entering the Classics, there is no better opportunity to earn significant points than that offered at these shows. Classic Bonus points from 1-12 places are:

80 pts. 64 pts. 56 pts. 48 pts. 40 pts. 32 pts.
24 pts. 20 pts. 16 pts. 12 pts. 8 pts. 4 pts.

Around Town
Following the Horse and Pony Show are three back-to-back “A” shows:
Ashley Meadows Farm Summer I July 4-6
Ashley Meadows Farm Summer II July 7-9
Ashley Meadows Farm Summer III July 10-12
These shows will have the same offerings as the Horse and Pony Show, including the $1000.00 Classics for Ponies and Juniors/Amateurs-Owners. With these four “A” shows in thirteen days, you can accumulate an unbeatable number of points for qualifying at an affordable price. A discounted stall rate of $75/show is available for those doing at least two shows. Stall requests at Ashley Meadows must be paid in full by June 15 to guarantee stalls on the grounds.

The summer series concludes with our “A” rated Ashley Meadows Farm Summer IV, August 3-5. Two autumn “B” shows end the show year on October 4 and November 1, the latter being our Bonus Point PCHA Finals.

On your free days, you have the fine Five Star restaurants of Philadelphia, as well as the historic district with Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, Valley Forge Park, Longwood Gardens and many great museums. Less instructive, but not to be missed, is The King of Prussia mall complex, just minutes away. Don’t forget Atlantic City, New Hope and the Brandywine area, as well as amusement attractions such as Hershey Park, Dorney Park and Great Adventure. Plentiful golfing is available in the rolling, Chester County area. Brochures will be available at Ashley Meadows Farm.
